Jay's Challenge-- Automatic Art

"First , first thing in the morning hop out of bed like a cork out of a Champaign bottle!  Next , dress as fast as you can , except a nice big shirt which you are going to wave about for five minutes  just like a matador  waves his big red Cape. Yaaaa, let your shirt settle gently over your shoulders now , ignore  the bull , saunter  into the studio and mindlessly  paint your version  of  a  Jackson Pollock .

    OUTSIDE INSIDE The Juneau Plein Rein Painters have been creating art outdoors for 20 years. Using all art media and in all weather, we meet on Saturday mornings to paint together, inspired by our differing styles, and by the beauty of Juneau and the activities and people who live here. An annual spring retreat kickstarts our creativity for our most productive seasons, spring and summer. This year, as artists in covid19 isolation, we painted around the Borough when the weather cooperated, traveling in separate cars and staying six feet apart. But we also painted from inside our homes.
